Aival is working with NHS Lothian and NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde to assess scalable solutions for validating clinical AI tools before procurement and while in use on patients. Working in conjunction with AI platform marketplace Bayer Calantic, AI developers Annalise, InferVision and Qure, and with the University of Edinburgh, we will investigate the how assurance software can facilitate faster adoption of the best AI technologies.

The current frameworks for evaluation and monitoring fall short in adequately assuring AI systems, primarily because AI represents a fundamental departure from the traditional technologies these frameworks were designed to assess. There is an urgent need for innovative tools and technologies for AI assurance, which themselves must undergo thorough evaluation and validation. This critical challenge forms the cornerstone of our groundbreaking project”.
